The Crusaders Sunday School Class

Will March come in like a lion or a lamb?  I’m not sure anyone cares – we are just glad that February is over.  Speaking of February, the Crusaders Sunday School Class meeting for the month of February was held after this article was due for The Spirit.  So….you will have to wait until the April Newsletter for the results of “The Newlywed Game.”  You can be sure that the competition was fierce.

          So, on to March.  Our event for March will be “Ingredient Night.”  This is a repeat  of a popular class meeting.  A list of ingredients will be posted in the Fellowship Hall on the bulletin board.  Class members will sign up to bring ingredients, recipes will be provided, and dishes will be prepared in teams.  The class will then enjoy a meal and judge the best dish.  Come join us-you will be amazed at the creativity of some of our cooks!  (Alka-seltzer available upon request.)

 

Seekers Class News

            The Seekers Class invited everyone to a presentation by Louella Kreiger in the church sanctuary on Fri. December 18, 2009 at 7:00 PM.  She did a portrayal of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.  Approximately 33 people were in attendance.  The presentation lasted an hour after which refreshments were served and we enjoyed a time of fellowship.  She received an offering of $ 236.00.  There was no business meeting that night.

 

District Helpshop

On March 21, 2010, the Johnstown District will host our Helpshop for local church leaders.  The Helpshop will be at Portage High School with registration starting at 2:15 PM.   Please pick up a brochure for the Helpshop on the table in the Narthex.

 

The Healthy Church Finance/Administration

If serving your local church as a treasurer, trustee, stewardship coordinator, finance team member, member of Staff/Parish or any leadership role, you should attend the Healthy Church Finance/Administration event to be held April 9^th at the Bethel UMC, 1021 Forest Hills Drive, Salix, PA 15952.  This course will be offered at nine other area churches if you can’t attend this one.
